Whether you’re searching for natural back pain relief, a way to take proactive care of your joints, or a convenient and fun way to strengthen and stretch, Teeter gravity boots provide a compact, comfortable solution.
Trusted by health professionals, gravity boots with calf loops are recommended as they help to reduce the load on the knee joints and tops of the feet when doing inversion therapy.
How to Set Up Your Inversion Table & Gravity Boots
Gravity boots are easy to use. Attach the ankle straps to the bottom of your calf muscles, ensuring you have a fit that’s secure but not too tight. Use the straps to tighten, making sure they’re fully locked. The hook should face forwards. Then, you can hook the boots to the bar on your hang up or inversion table. You can wear shoes, with trainers being a popular choice for comfort.

FAQs about Gravity Boots
Teeter gravity boots can be used with select Teeter Hang Ups inversion tables, inversion racks, and bars or even on secure, appropriately-sized bars at your local gym. Your inversion table must be converted using a CV bar attachment, for sale separately or as a part of the adapter kit (includes gravity boots and CV bar). You’ll need a maximum bar diameter of 1.25” (3.2 cm).
Aside from standard inverted decompression and stretching, the gravity boots provide an ideal way to perform inverted exercises including core strengthening and leg workouts.
Yes. Using gravity boots with an inversion table helps to relieve pressure on your spine and uses the power of gravity to provide a healthy stretch.
The boots are easily adjustable and support micro-adjustments so you can find the most comfortable and supportive fit for your ankles and feet. So, even if you have narrow calves and a thicker ankles, the boots can fit perfectly!
No, you should not use gravity boots if you have high blood pressure. It’s typically not recommended that you do inversion exercises if you have hypertension or heart conditions.
Hi Pevad,
Inversion is contraindicated (not recommended) for anyone with surgically implanted orthopedic supports or a significant curvature to the spine. While this does not mean that you cannot invert, it means that you’ll need to check with your doctor before trying inversion. You can find out more about contraindications here: https://teeter.com/blog/faq-items/who-should-use-it/

Comfortable and secure. This is my second set (first pair got lost in a move).
Florida G. –
bought these boots to replace a pair that someone used incorrectly and broke the buckles, been using teeter products over 20 years

These inversion boots have changes my life! Seriously. I’ve been using them for almost 20 years – just finally had to buy a new pair – and they helped cure me of a chronic back problem that I had for several years. They have also given me abs of steel!
JJ67 –
I have had my EZ up gravity boots for about 1 month. I typically hang 3-4 minutes at a time several times per week. The boots a very comfortable and well made. I like the ability to micro adjust the tightness of the fit. I have narrow calves but a thick ankle and high instep. I am able to adjust the boot fit to work best for my anatomy.
JPStrand1 –
I bought my first pair about six years ago after throwing my back out doing sit ups. I have been using them to hang almost every day since then and not only have I not had a single back problem but my posture has improved dramatically. After six years of daily use my first pair broke. No hesitation in buying a second pair. These are essential to my life now. Worth every penny and then some.

These boots have been helping me to stretch my back and my training. It something easy to use and it does not require anything complicated for me to use it.
Gravity Boots User –
As an avid rower I have at times been limited by lower back stiffness/soreness. While inversion has not cured that problem entirely it has become an important part of my self-care routine, and I have experienced a noticeable improvement in lower back soreness. I currently use my Gravity Boots for 5-6 minutes after a hard workout and it seems to reduce any issues later on.

I bought the gravity boots many years ago, and they worked well. But like many users have reported, the ratchet straps on the boots cracked and broke after many years. Again, this is a commonly reported problem. The ratchet straps are very easy to replace, and I hoped that the manufacturer (Teeter) would sell me replacement straps (and because they’re such small, simple plastic pieces, I would expect them to be very inexpensive). Unfortunately, customer service would not sell me replacement straps; instead, I had to buy a new set of boots – even though the original boots were still in excellent condition, aside from the straps. (This is very much like breaking a shoelace, and being forced to buy a new pair of shoes, rather than replace the shoelace.) To be fair, I was given a discount on the price of the new boots. Still, I’m sure that a fair price for replacement straps would have been much lower.

I have used my 2 pairs of Spyder gravity boots on 2 continents for more than 20 years. My European pair was stolen a few months ago and my joints are beginning to ache. I hope my replacement boots arrive shortly! ;-)

I purchased for maintenance of my back issues and this was the third pair over the last 35 years. They work wonders at loosening up my back and giving temporary respite for back pain that has plagued me for years.
Mrs T –
My rheumatologist suggested gravity inversion as a way to reduce lumbar pain and sciatica. I purchased the Teeter boots and doorframe bar system, rather than a table, because I am still athletic enough to get on and off without assistance.
I have slowly increased my inversion time to ten minutes per day. Mostly I dangle to allow my vertebrae to stretch. I also incorporate pelvic floor, abdominal, and hamstring strengthening exercises. I follow this with 30-45 minutes of yoga.
My pain level has decreased and my mobility has increased.
Bq1985 –
I give a 3 out of 10 only bc this didnt state how small a door frame this would accommodate. Quality is amazing and i wish it fit bc it was solid. Boots are great and the relief you get from using them is amazing

These gravity boots are great. I lived with low back pain for over a year. I went to a chiropractor and got some relief but the pain never completely went away. I’ve been inverting with these boots everyday since I got them and now I’m pain-free most days. Amazing! Highly recommended trying them out for back pain.

This is my second time buying the inversion rack (moved out of state and gave my last one away). I’m a loyal customer for life and recommend it to anyone. Great for not just my back, but an amazing abdominal workout and back/biceps exercise with pull-ups.
Additionally, the customer service is the best I’ve come across in many years- I had an issue, and they without hesitation sent me a replacement free of charge.
I can’t recommend this company and their product enough.

The plastic going around the leg failed and cracked all the way. I have pictures.

I only bought the boots, but I regret for not to buy the doorway bar as well. The boots are marvellous. Very easy to use and very easy to carry in a lugagge

Although I returned this item, it gets five stars. High quality, customer service beyond expectations. Bought the Dex 2 instead.

I recently purchased both the Dex II and the gravity boots. Although they both focus on decompressing the back, they are very different, each with pros and cons. Overall, I prefer the gravity boots because of its full vertical stretch. But first I say Teeter’s customer service deserves five stars! They were great at replacing needed parts.
The DexII… It can be placed almost anywhere there is room which is a huge advantage and I would definitely use it rather than nothing. Once placed it is difficult to move. It does stretch the back but your arms rest on the floor or back of the head and I feel I don’t get the full vertical stretch I like. As is, I would not recommend it for anyone shorter than 5’3” because it is hard to get the hips high enough up on the hip pad, unless they modify it as I did with an accessory step. I notice some taller users mention problems also. I also do not like the 90 degree bend in the bars attached to the hip pad which are difficult for me to reach when coming up.
My sad and sorry story with a good ending: I tried it at my chiropractor’s office before purchasing and it seemed easy enough to use. However I fell backwards getting the box in the sliding door. Assembly went ok. After a week of use I injured my ribs bending over because I couldn’t get up high enough on the hip pad. That took several weeks to heal during which time I realized I would have to raise the step of the DexII in order to fix the problem. I now have a wider step with safety tread that raises the existing step by 2.25 inches. Just right and now it is easy to use, step on, step off. Photos attached.
The gravity boots… The gravity boots come in standard and large. Unfortunately the standard is still too large for my legs and there is no smaller size. (A commentary on the size and weight of Americans today?) They are almost exactly the same as the ones I have been using for the last thirty-five years following a pedestrian-vehicle accident. They definitely help my back and I have used them daily until recently losing weight. I prefer the full vertical stretch the boots allow without my hands touching the floor. It’s great. I do not use the doorway mount as I would never be able to hang and curl up in order to hook the boots on the bar. (not that strong) Instead I use a pipe attached to the rafters where the feet and boots can go between between the rafters. Mounted 18 inches from a blank wall allows me to climb up the wall with my feet in order to hook the boots.
The problem is that at my current weight which is slender, the cuffs are not comfortable and dig into my ankles and calf to a point where I can only hang for two minutes instead of five or ten. I currently use half in foam strips front and back which gives me the two minutes. Heavy socks do not work and I have not yet devised a satisfactory and pain free way to pad the cuffs so they don’t dig in to my lower leg at the bottom of the front and the top of the back. The buckles are also very stiff and difficult to operate. Hopefully they will loosen with use.
In conclusion either one helps my back, but given an option I prefer the results from the gravity boots.
PS Can’t figure how to upload photos :(

I decided to go with the gravity boots over the inversion table to reduce space use. These boots are excellent. I use them daily and they are fantastic at stretching out my back. Within a month, they have already reduced chronic back pain I was experiencing for years.
Guy who wants stuff –
I have owned multiple of these over time. I love it so much. I have one in storage after a move but in the move the door way brackets were lost and finding them on their sight has been an impossible task. Ontop of that I can’t buy just the pull up bar since I have 2 sets of boots. I don’t like waste and don’t want to buy a whole system when I own all but the door bracket.
